DOLE: Only licensed agencies allowed to conduct Internet-based recruitment

Wednesday, August 22, 2007The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) today said that measures have been initiated to prevent illegal recruitment through the Internet.

Labor and Employment Secretary Arturo D. Brion said the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) allows only licensed agencies and their legitimate representatives to post vacancies and recruit Filipino workers through the Internet. June 11, 2007 Results: 9,198 or 68.96% Passed

The results of the June 11, 2007 nursing board exam is out.  According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), a total of 13,338 nurses licensed pursuant to the June 2006 NLE took the exam and 9,198 or 68.96% Passed.  It its press release, DOLE likewise explained –

“A total of 13,338 nurses licensed pursuant to the June 2006 NLE took the voluntary retake examination and 9,198 or 68.96% passed. The rest (4,140) failed to meet the passing grade of at least 75% in both Tests III and V. Read the rest of this entry »





DOLE: More than 9 thousand retakers of nursing exam passed

Labor and Employment Secretary Arturo D. Brion announced on Monday that 9,198 of those who took the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-initiated voluntary retake examination of Tests III and V of the June 2006 nursing examination hurdled the retake.

The number of passers represents 68.96% of the 13,338 who took the retake last June 11, 2007 which was held simultaneous with the regular nursing examination. Read the rest of this entry »





DOLE: Labor offices abroad directed to receive complaints on violations of overseas employment rules

Tuesday, August 21, 2007The government has bolstered the protection of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) by directing the network of Philippine Overseas Labor Offices (POLOs) to receive OFW complaints onsite concerning violations of the country’s rules governing overseas employment.

Labor and Employment Secretary Arturo D. Brion said that Resolution No. 07 issued by the Governing Board of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) will effectively provide onsite remedies to OFWs with complaints against their employer or the recruitment agency which deployed them.
